Elder Patricio M. Giuffra

Trusting the Lord Through Tithes and Offerings

Seventy

In brief

Elder Giuffra recounts teaching a poor, elderly woman in Chile who believed she could never pay tithing, and his mission president's counsel that there are no exceptions to the law. After she prayed for help, she was baptized and faithfully paid tithing and fast offerings. He testifies that tithing is a law of faith: we keep commandments because we love God, trials still come, and the Lord fulfills His promises in His own time, including, as he has seen in Central America, by helping families break cycles of poverty.
