Elder James G. O. Fantone
Take Upon Us His Name
Seventy
In brief
Elder Fantone recalls signing his own name on his daughter's school form, then fixing it by simply adding her first name, and contrasts that quick fix with what it means to take upon us the name of Christ. Taking His name is not adding a badge but a lifelong determination to serve Him, which King Benjamin teaches we do by serving others. His parents, who gave their children's bedrooms to a student and to children needing a safe home, and homesick missionaries who came to love the work, show how service changes the server.
