October 2026 General Conference › Themes › Covenants
Covenants as living, protective, generational power
Covenants are presented as active power that binds the keeper to Christ, reaches across generations, and cannot be voided by another person's choices.
A lens for pondering what was said, found through careful coding. Not an official summary; read the talks themselves for the full message. How it works“It was covenants.”
What this theme is about
Covenants are described as acting when the person is not: ancestors' covenants reach a descendant raised in another church, and covenants "do not 'take a day off'" (Elder Morgan, quoting President Oaks). The protection runs both ways, for the wandering child and for the faithful spouse, and three talks tie the weekly sacrament to staying on that path.
