Elder Patrick Kearon
Jesus Lives to Lift
Quorum of the Twelve
In brief
Elder Kearon draws on learning to fly gliders as a teenager: pilots seek rising air called "lift" and turn decisively away from sinking air, and without climbing, a glider slowly descends. Spiritual lift and sink are likewise unseen but can be felt, and neglecting spiritual practices can let us sink almost imperceptibly. His counsel is simple: find a faithful guide, tune in to the Spirit, join others who are climbing, turn away from sink, and help others rise, because Jesus Christ loves to lift.
