Truth with love: peacemaking, unity, and boundaries
Sunday's speakers converged on a two-part ethic: forgo contention and seek unity, while not trading truth for approval.
A lens for pondering what was said, found through careful coding. Not an official summary; read the talks themselves for the full message. How it works“truth and love always walk together”
What this theme is about
Elder Kyungu's talk is the most practical in the conference: one list of phrases to retire and one to use. Elder Gilbert supplies the procedure (avoid overly contentious settings, find common ground, be a light, hold to truth, stay anchored in Jesus Christ) and models it with his own failure. President Uchtdorf adds the reason: "If we are not one, we are not His."
